I am Dawn Maddern and I have worked with young people for 33 years. Initially I worked at the YMCA in Penzance, working with a group called Ten Sing, that involved music, drama, song and dance, taking the group of 50 young people to Germany, Norway, Finland, Czech Republic, Hungary.
I worked for one year in Scotland where I was Assistant Centre Director at a National YMCA Centre in September 2000, I took up the position of Young Carers Support Worker with the CRCC, and in April 2012 I moved to Action for Children continuing to support young people with a caring role.
My role in this job enables me to give the young people opportunities to meet other young people in similar roles, provide new experiences – and I enjoy watching the young people grow in confidence
I enjoy watching most sports, all types of craft, singing, music, gardening and travel and I love spending time with my dog “Star”.This entry was posted in Uncategorised. Bookmark the permalink. ← Liz Digweed
